My Background, Education, Training and Designations

Karen has been a resident of Northern Virginia since 1979, and a full time Realtor with Weichert, Realtors for nearly fourteen years. Her husband spent 24 years in the military which created many moves for their family, so she has great empathy for anyone moving whether it is 3 miles or 5000 miles. Your move is a stressful time and she wants to take, as part of her job, your stress and make it a pleasant experience for you.

Because of her age and life experiences, she can honestly say "She has been there and done that."

She graduated from Michigan State University and taught school prior to her marriage and feels very lucky and proud to have had a job as a full time mom until her children graduated from high school. She now is proud to have a job as a full time Realtor and make sure she attends classes, meetings, seminars and what ever opportunities allow her to keep up to date on the changes in contracts, the trends in real estate, and the multitude of issues constantly facing a home buyer/seller.

She has earned the following designations and is in the top 5% of Realtors nationwide:

GRI This means a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute
ABR This means that she is an Accredited Buyer Representative.
SRES This one is rather new and means that she is a Seniors Real Estate Specialist

She is a spokesperson for the Washington Regional Transplant Consortium educating the public about the need for people to let their families know of their desire to be an organ donor upon their death. 75,000+ people in our country are on the waiting list. Karen founded "Kristi's Christmas All Year Round" which is now a part of the West Springfield Rotary Foundation. This project exists to help the neediest children in Fairfax County as identified by the school principals and counselors. 100% of all contributions go to the need...Absolutely No Overhead. 10% of her income goes to this project. She was awarded the Weichert, Realtors Community Service award twice.
